My wonderful friend Stephanie and her son James came to stay with us, a couple weeks ago, for a few days! It was great! The kids all got to play and Steph and I got to catch up. We took Ella, James and Addie out to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower garden. These are pics from that!

The loss of another wonderful man in my life! My grandfather, Papa, passed away on March 8, 2010. He had been sick for a while, and though we are so happy he is with God and not in pain, we miss him terribly! I can't imagine holidays or even going home without him being there! He was tough on the outside but so soft, to us grandkids, on the inside! I have so many great memories of him and my grandmother! Papa called Ella his little jumping jack because after he got sick and was in bed most of the time she used to stand on his bed and jump up and down. Papa absolutely LOVED it!!!! We love and will miss you Papa!!!!

Shannon and I went away a couple of weekends ago for some much needed R&R! Our intent was to sleep until they knocked on our door for breakfast at 9am....well, that did not happen. Up at 6am! What is that!?!?! So....we went and hiked Enchanted Rock, came back for breakfast, shopped, visited vineyards, had great food and wine.....and got to really hang out! I absolutely love my sister! She rocks and I enjoyed every second of this weekend away...must do it more often!

We spent four days at Port Royal a couple of weekends ago, Scott had to work while Ella and I lounged around and went to the pool. We did hit Virginia's Friday night for dinner where Ella was quite the socialite!

Saturday the Stoner family came over for lunch and this time we got pictures! Ella kept trying to give James kisses! She is quite the flirt. James was absolutely delightful! He only really got upset when Ella started crying. Dave was there as well...finally got to see him, just playing Dave! We love the Stoners!!!

BUT I will do it quickly because Ella is trying to help me type and it is not working out very well!

1. Ella is walking ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! Yes, I know...we need video of this. That is being worked on! She seems to want to crawl when I break out the video camera! Why is this?

2. Ella has four big girl teeth and two more on their way! I didn't know all the teeth stuff happened so fast.

3. Today Ella brushed her teeth for the very first time! Hopefully I can teach her to not brush hard, like her mother and brush away all her gums!

Saturday afternoon Baby James Stoner and Mommy (Stephanie) came to visit! I just know Baby James and Ella are going to be huge fans of each other! I could kick myself for not getting pictures of James and Ella...what was I thinking!!!!! But I have to say James is so darn adorable, I hope he doesn't mind being called adorable, and we will get some great pictures in three weeks when we see them again! I love love love my friend Stephanie and her beautiful little boy!

Two important pieces of information for this post...

NUMERO UNO is that Ella has taken her first steps! YEAH ELLA!!! She actually did this last week and being the terrible mom I am had not posted anything yet. It was one/two very unsteady steps from Scott's chair in the living room to mine. And then she went to her bum! It was quite exciting, and actually the real reason I did not post anything yet was being a first time mom did not know if those kind of steps counted as "first steps" but apparently they do, says Shannon! Addie has also taken her first steps! YEAH ADDIE!!! Addie is a bit more steady on her feet than Ella, and she should be with her size 51/2 feet at 11 months of age!! Hee Hee! Addie somehow got my feet and Ella got Shannon's. This all means that these girls are going to be wearing me out very soon!!! I am looking forward to it though!

NUMERO DOS is that it is actually tolerable outside! LOVE IT! See Melissa Fuller...time to move to Texas! I could of actually sat outside today, in the middle of the day, and not died! AND as I type this I am sitting on our back porch enjoying the fact that it is 7:30pm and I am not burning up! Thank you cool front! I hope there is lots more where this came from. It will be nice to be able to get outside more with the girls during the day in the days to come!

We can't believe Ella and Addie are getting so big! Their cousin Nate is already 1 year old...where has the time gone! Cheers to our little ladies and little man!

Ella is all over the place these days! If she is not crawling as fast as she can to somewhere she is not supposed to be she is guiding around on the furniture, dancing to the ABC's, walking with her little push toy (thank you Sowell family), leading Addie around the room to the next activity, or if I am in another room behind a closed door she will scream until I come out or lay on the floor and try and look under the door to see me. She needs some serious time away from mommy! I think Scott and Ella are going to have their first Daddy/Daughter Day this Saturday! Yeah, mommy is going to get out for longer than just between Ella's nap times!!!! Watch out Austin, here I come!!!

It is so wonderful to watch Ella & Addie play together! They both get so excited in the mornings when they see each other for the first time and then they play all day together! They have even started giving each other kisses! How sweet is that!

Our last trip to South Texas...

Our last visit to South Texas was filled with lots of family and love! We stayed at LaLee's house that weekend. Friday night after Ella went to bed I ran over to see Erin and Clay (who were married the next day). Saturday morning Scott, Ella, and I traveled down to Edinburg to visit with Pops and Uncle David. Pops was doing great and working hard in physical therapy. We got to sit around and catch up as Ella was passed around. Saturday afternoon Poppie came to see Ella at LaLee's house. Poppie got to feed Ella a little bit before she had to go to bed. Ella had not traveled that much in one day before and she was tuckered out! Sunday was Scott's 38th birthday...so we celebrated with cinnamon rolls in the morning! Then we headed over to Nana & Papa's for a visit and Ella got to spend some time jumping on Papa's bed (which he loves) and jumping on Poppie's lap (which she loves). After running by the church BBQ for a quick hello, we headed back to Austin. On the way back we met Nonnie on the road (she was heading back from Dallas) so that she could see Ella. We had a packed weekend...we loved seeing everyone and can't wait to see them again soon!

Teeth...

Seriously, why do we need teeth? Ella can pretty much gum about anything and get it down. BUT no....we have to now go through the teething process. So Ella WAS sleeping better until the last two weeks. AND...lucky for us her front two bottom teeth decided to come in at different times. It is now getting better, thank goodness! So when you guys see her next she will have some little choppers! Our little girl is growing up...too fast!

Oh, and by the way...I cut her mullet. She now looks like she has a cute little bob, but Scott and I kind of miss our white trash baby!

Happy 3rd Anniversary

Scott and I spent our 3rd anniversary at Fleming's Steak House and it was YUMMY!!! We had not had a meal that wonderful in a while! This was our first date after having Ella. My mom kept Ella for us while we were wined and dined. They started us off with rosemary bread and this amazing champagne infused brie. I mean WOW!!! Scott ordered the King Crab Legs and I ordered the surf and turf entree (filet and lobster). With all of this we ordered a shirah that was great (notice in the pic I am not showing teeth....that is because they are grey from the wine!) For dessert we had cheesecake with blueberry sauce and white chocolate shavings. We had a great time and a wonderful meal! After Fleming's we walked over to Cru, a wine bar, sat outside to talk and people watch while we enjoyed some sparkling white wine and one more glass of red. We really enjoy wine...can you tell!?!? Then it was back home! Cheers to good times and good food!

For the 4th of July Scott, myself, Shannon, Doug, Danielle, and Stephen (all first time parents) headed to Driftwood for dinner at Mandola's Winery and then to Twin Sister's Dance Hall to dance it up. Shannon and I joked on the way to the restaurant that we felt all giddy...like we were in high school going out for the first time. That was the longest I had been away from Ella and although it was tough for me, it was much needed and much enjoyed!

First Annual James Family Beach Trip

We took a trip to Port Aransas for the First Annual James Family Beach Trip. The Thoms family joined us, and we all had a great time! The girls loved the water and I loved the desserts a bit too much ! Have to make up for that now!

Ella swam like crazy, so now we are calling her our little tadpole. She tired herself out and took some great naps because of it. Maybe we should invest in a pool?!?

It was wonderful to have some relaxing days just to hang out with my family and not have to be anywhere or do anything (we don't get to do that very often).

I think that Dad even had a good time. Maybe not down at the beach, but he enjoyed every bit of the rest of it (I think?). We all had a fabulous time and can't wait to do it again next year!

Girls Weekend

All the PT girls got together again, this time in celebration of Baby James Stoner. Stephanie was 38 weeks along and ready for this baby to make his appearance. Amy brought her little girl, Izzy, Mel had Beau bring her little girl by, Brynne, Karen was with child (a little girl) and Ella was there with me! It was great to be with my wonderful PT ladies! Ella enjoyed meeting more of mommy's friends!

Baby James arrived June 2nd at 9:02pm weighing 7lbs and 2 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long! We can't wait to meet Baby James!

Our family flew to North Carolina to celebrate David (Scott's brother) and Carrigan's (our niece) birthdays! It was Ella's first airplane flight and it went great! She had no problems and was quite the socialite! Once we arrived in NC Carol, Brett & the kids took us to Pastabilities, a great little Italian place owned by a friend of theirs! There we celebrated David's birthday with a cake and his surprise...a Richard Petty driving experience! That next morning LaLee, David, Carol, Brett, Carrigan, Sullivan and Scott loaded up to go to the race track. David had a blast driving his race car! Ella and I stayed at the house to get a nap in. That night we all went to Prissy Polly's for some good food and music. Brett then made us a fabulous dessert with caramel wine sauce! Yummy!! Sunday morning we were off to church and then joined by Brett's parents back at the house for a NC BBQ lunch! Then it was time to celebrate Carrigan's 3rd birthday! It was fun watching her tear into each gift with such excitement! LaLee made her a strawberry cake which was a big hit with the kids as well as the adults! Monday we hung out at the house while Ella napped, packed up, and left for the airport! It was a funfilled weekend with many great memories!

On Saturday March 7th, 2009 Ella, Addie and Nate, the three cousins, were baptised at St. Joseph's Church in Gussettville, TX. Our families have a strong connection to this tiny little spot on the Texas map. Many members of our families have been laid to rest in this cemetary. Incredibly on the James' side, family dating back to 9 generations are buried here. In fact, there were 4 gnerations represented in the church this day with Papa and Nana(pictured), Willie and Jimmy, Stacey, Shannon and Krista and Ella, Addie and Nate(pictured). On the Snider side, which is Lalee's family, we can find family members dating back at least 8 generations. We would like to thank all the family members that traveled to Gussettville this weekend to support us as we introduced our little ones to Christ. Doug's family, the Fohns, traveled in from San Angelo, Houston and Austin. The Gilmores traveled from Dallas, Edinburg and Winston-Salem, N.C.(Thank you Brett and Carol!) And the James' from Clear Lake, Pleasanton, and across FM 799. After the baptism, we all loaded up and went in town to the Buck West House in George West where we enjoyed fellowship, a nice lunch cooked by our cousin Guy Freiley and 3 cakes, 1 for each child. So, as you can see, this was a very special day for all of us...especially the three cousins. Click on the link to enjoy the movie of the baptism!

On the way back to Austin from George West we stopped in Three Rivers to visit Grandpa Gilmore's grave. I wish Ella and I would have known him.

Our Christmas happenings...

Scott, Ella, Walker (our dog), and I loaded up the Tuesday afternoon before Christmas and headed down to South Texas. Our first stop was at grandma LaLee's house for Ella to meet Scott's sister Carol Ann, her husband Brett, their kids Sullivan and Carrigan, and Scott's brother John. Carol and her family were down from North Carolina and John was down from Utah. This was the first time Ella had met them. Scott's dad, Pops, joined us the next day from the valley for Christmas Eve dinner, and we all met my family that night for church and to remember what Christmas is really all about. Christmas morning Santa surprised the kids with lots of great gifts, and later that day we took the kids out to my family's place to pet the horses and cows. Carrigan got right in there and fed Buster the horse and many of the cows. Sullivan was a little bit more reluctant. My dad loved it! Throughout the three days we spent at LaLee's house many visitors came by to say hello and meet our little girl! It was definitely a special time! We absolutely loved seeing everyone but missed having Scott's brother David and his girlfriend Pamela there with us!!!

Then off we went to my parent's house (Nani and Popi) to spend the rest of our time in South Texas with my family. Everyone was there this year - Shannon, Doug, Addie, Brent and Lauren. The guys hunted and the girls relaxed! Mom fed us all too well, and she and I decorated Christmas cookies. Saturday we all went over to my grandparent's (Nana & Papa) house for Christmas with my dad's side of the family...which is always good times! Christmas was wonderful with all the new babies, but still there was something very special missing....our Paw Paw! It was a little bitter sweet this year! Yes, Christmas is about the birth of Christ and that is the biggest thing, but for me the holiday is also about spending it with the people I love so deary, and without Paw Paw there it was hard! However, we had so much to celebrate with Ella, Addie, Nate, Sophia, and Fiora being born! What true and amazing blessings the Lord has given our family!

A great loss...

On December 9, 2008 our family lost a great man...my grandfather, who we called Paw Paw, went home to be with Jesus! He was 92 years old and we have been so blessed to feel his love, enjoy his hugs and kisses, and learn from his actions for this long... it is just hard to let him go. Our family knows where he is and that he is no longer hurting, but our selfishness never wants to let people go, especially a man like this man was! Paw Paw had a lot to do with why I love people the way I do! He taught me to love everyone and to treat everyone equally!

I am happy that Ella got to meet her great grandfather, but I am sad that she will never know him. I will tell her all about him though! Our family will never be the same without this wonderful man's presence!

I am truly blessed to have three of my grandparents, Ella's great grandparents, still with us! They have been a huge part of my life and have taught me many valuable lessons along the way. Our precious little girl arrived on Tuesday November 11, 2008 at 10:37 pm weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. She is a healthy and happy little girl! God has definitely blessed our lives with this bundle of joy! We brought her home on my birthday, and I have to say she is the best birthday present I could have ever asked for!

A rough two weeks...

So lately Ella and I have had a run of bad luck! On Monday 10/13/08 I was in my first car accident...a guy ran a red light and hit the front of my car. Of course as soon as I got out of the car everyone, except the guy that hit me, started freaking out that I was pregnant. I called my doctor to see what I need to do to make sure baby Ella was okay, he had me go to the hospital to be monitored for 4 hours. Ella was doing great and I was just a little sore. Then the following Monday 10/20/08 I was done with patients and had just been to one body shop and going to another to get estimates when I was hit from behind by a big 18 passenger van! NOT FUN! I ended up hitting the car in front of me and he hit the car in front of him. The guy in the van was going way too fast, and I was just watching it happen out of my rear view mirror! Once again I called my doctor who sent me back to the hospital for monitoring! I now know the hospital staff rather well! The nurse said that Ella looked healthy and happy! That was wonderful to hear; however, you can imagine how emotional I was though....being 81/2 months pregnant with hormones soring and all this happening! I just couldn't bear the thought of something happening to Ella! All is well now, and I have gone one whole week without an accident!!! YEAH! I am pretty paranoid out on the road these days though! Now we are just waiting for all the insurance stuff to be handled and have the Tahoe fixed. Who knows how long all that could take!!! Please pray for safety for Ella and I on the road!!! She is one tough girl!

Our newest niece arrived October 4, 2008 at 4:10 pm....she weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 3/4 inches long. She is a great baby! We have really enjoyed spending time with this little one...it is definitely teaching us lots before Ella's arrival! Addie is a beautiful addition to our family!

Mom, Shannon and Krista hosted a luncheon at Shan's house for my Austin ladies! It was so much fun to get these wonderful ladies together that I am friend's with, but that didn't really know each other before the shower! Each one of the ladies are very special, and I feel blessed to know each of them! Mom, Shan, Krista, and Jacque made some great food for us, and we all just got to sit around and chat! I had a great time! Baby Nate, Krista's little bundle of joy, even made a guest appearance!

A&M Season Opener...

Scott, Dad and I headed to College Station for the season opener. We met Brent, Lauren, and Mr. & Mrs. Krustchinsky in at Chedders for a late lunch before we headed to the game. It was a bit warm for this pregnant mama...even though the game started at 6pm and we had comfortable seats in the shade! However, it was nice to get to go to a game this year! And even though the score did not turn out like we would have liked....it was still a good time! Too bad the Aggies couldn't pull out a win for Dad's birthday!

I alway have fun with my girls from physical therapy school, and this past weekend they threw Amy (to my right in the pic) and I a great baby shower! Amy is just 4 weeks behind me and is also having a girl! We ate wonderful food, opened gifts, went and had pedicures, shopped, and just enjoyed each other! These are some of the most Godly girls I know! Those not able to make it were Karen (who is 8 weeks pregnant) and Jennifer (who is 22 weeks pregnant with a boy). I guess we are all drinking the same water! Watch out!

The past two years have flown bye....we have traveled a good amount, moved to a new city, changed jobs, made new friends, gotten pregnant, and both grown tremendously! The Lord has shown us how very blessed we are to have one another and this new life He is about to bring into the world.

We spent Scott's 37th birthday weekend at the Schulenburg Festival and in La Grange with great friends (Yvette, Chuck & Cameron Joyner, Roger & Bill Creager, and Larry Brown). Roger put on a fabulous show, like always, and Chuck and Yvette showed us the charm of La Grange!

20 weeks and it's a little girl...

I am a bit late in posting this to our blog, but since we have found out that we are having a girl I have been concentrating more on the nursery than anything else! Scott and I get more and more excited about our little girl coming into the world with each day that passes bye.
I think we are going to have an active one on our hands...she is already doing quite a bit of kicking. Scott was actually able to feel her kick for the first time about a week ago. We are now in our 24th week and I can't believe how fast it is going! She will be here before we know it!
